Free GIF Reverser
Flip any animated GIF backwards in one click. Frame timing is preserved. No watermark, no signup, no daily limit. Want to also speed up the reversed version? Pair with the GIF Speed Changer. To create a "boomerang" loop, reverse here, then merge with the original via the GIF Combiner.

GIF Reverse FAQs
Is the GIF reverser free?
Yes — every reverse is free. No signup, no payment, no daily limit, no watermark.
What is the max file size?
50 MB per upload.
Will the timing stay the same?
Yes — frame durations are preserved, only the order is flipped. A 1-second GIF stays 1 second.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. Any modern browser. Encoding runs on GIFDB servers.
Can I make a boomerang (forward + reverse)?
Not yet via a single click — for now reverse the GIF here, then concatenate with the original in any GIF editor. Boomerang support is on the roadmap.
Will quality drop?
Minimal — we re-encode with palette-based ffmpeg, which is the same lossless-ish path the original GIF used.
Why does the file size change?
GIF compression depends on inter-frame similarity. Reversed frames sometimes compress slightly differently — usually within 5%.
Can I reverse a video instead?
Convert the video to GIF first using our MP4 to GIF tool, then reverse here. Or use a video editor for the source MP4.
Does loop count get preserved?
Yes — reversed GIFs loop the same way as the source.
What is a good use case?
Reaction GIFs (the classic "reverse" punchline), training videos, tutorial step-throughs, anything where seeing the action backwards adds value.
