Can I download age-restricted or members-only videos?
No. We only fetch public videos. Age-restricted, members-only, and private uploads return a not-available error.
How do I cut just a 5-second clip out of a YouTube video?
After downloading the MP4, drop it into our MP4 to GIF converter. Set start time and duration (up to 15 seconds) — that becomes your GIF.
Is downloading YouTube videos legal?
Saving public YouTube videos for personal use is generally fine. Re-uploading copyrighted content without permission is not — credit the original creator if you re-share.
Are there video-length limits?
No length cap from our side. For very long videos the download itself can take a few minutes — most people only need a short clip, so trim with the MP4 to GIF tool.
Can I download just the audio (MP3 / M4A)?
Yes. The result panel includes an audio-only download that gives you the audio track as M4A. Rename to .mp3 if your player insists.
Does the tool support burning subtitles?
Subtitles aren't burned into the video by default. If you need them, download the MP4 first, then run it through a subtitle-burner before converting to GIF.
